Remove moving figure from home screen#762

The newest update added a moving figure to the home screen, and there isn’t an option to turn it off. Why do this to people with vestibular migraine? 😂 C’mon now, y’all know stuff like that can be a trigger.

Why the moving figure on the Home Screen? Please, please give me an option to turn it off. Even better, let me remove the figure entirely. I know you are trying very hard to reduce triggers but you have to know this type of moving figure is a trigger for some of us. If we can’t fix it soon, I’m going to have to find a different platform to capture data for my doctor. I’ve been with you for years and rely on you. Don’t expect lots of feedback if people can’t get past the Home Screen. If I were shopping for a new app, your new design would direct my choice elsewhere. Please don’t wait to put in a fix.

I complained of this elsewhere too. I have permanent vertigo. This moving, breathing figure is really a problem. I’m on 5 medications to control my vertigo to no avail. This is really nearly a deal breaker. A big trigger! Please fix this!

The moving figure on the homescreen is a bad idea. It makes me nauseated

The new cartoon/moving figure on the home screen wastes a lot of valuable real estate on the screen that could be used to display insights/data. The modules that had barometric pressure are smaller in the new design to accommodate the graphic. I also think that the graphics and font size of the new summary screen are way too small to be useful and certain answers get truncated. I reverted back to the old design because the data is easier to view.

I was really sad the last time when seeing some reactions and I could not get the feedback I expected, but I do not give up! I understand you expected more from us.

This is a place to discuss with one another and iterate on how we can make things better for all of you. And as you can imagine it is not always easy but the team is really dedicated to this mission 🤗

The team has iterated a new option and we’d like to hear your thoughts on it:
The upper part of the home screen would be scrollable and you could pick between the current animation, or an illustration or a simple text with minimal visual effects. You can tap on the attached image below to see how it would look.

Looking forward to hear from you, constructive feedback are alsways welcome ✌️

I appreciate how hard you are working. Maybe I’m misunderstanding. It’s hard to know from a screenshot about movement. I can’t see how it’s going to be much better if each time I have to feel sick to start with seeing the moving picture to get to scroll down to where it’s still. I was hoping be able to just open it and feel good again. I mean. I’d like there to be no moving lady or a way to one time only turn her off and never see her again. Thanks for all your hard work.

It looks like this is a setting you’ll swipe between while the app is open, and not one you can set in a menu and count on to stay set. If our best option is to scroll to the right to get rid of the animation, that’s still not going to help me. The whole rest of your main page is customizable with toggles in the settings menu. I need to be able to click a box once and never see the throbbing animated character again. Those scroll left and right type menus tend not to remember your preferred position and I don’t want her to keep popping up, even if it’s somewhat less often than before. I want to be very clear: I need to be able to TURN HER OFF. Completely and permanantly. I don’t want to have to see her again, even a little, even for a minute. I don’t want to ever have to scroll to get rid of her. I don’t want her to be one accidental swipe away. I want to be able to click a button say goodbye to her forever.
This is really important. It’s not just unattractive. It’s not just unpopular. It makes some of your users SICK. You are a health app that is damaging people’s health, and we’ve told you SO clearly that what we need is the option for a plain home screen without animations. Not one that we can get to eventually after getting a quick glimpse at the floating cartoon lady, not one that we might accidentally set back to ‘throbbing animation that makes you feel sick’ mode when we open the app in the middle of an attack that makes it harder to do EVERYTHING including avoid swiping the wrong spots on a touch screen - but something we can set up permanantly and not have to worry about again.
I have canceled my subscription and am currently logging migraines only after they are over because during an attack YOUR APP MAKES ME FEEL WORSE. Opening the app and having to scroll to the side to get rid of something that makes me feel sick isn’t any better than having to scroll down, and knowing that she’s Right There and could come back if the app forgets where I swiped to last time, or if I swipe the wrong spot, will make me much less likely to use the app. PLEASE just let us turn her off.

Hi @Jenny , in the screenshot, my preference is to have the third option (all the way at the right) as the setting on my home screen. If you release the update into the app, would we be able to update our default view in the settings?

Hello again! I appreciate all the work on this app. If I can set the screen to always open at one of the three options, then I’m fine with it. If I need to scroll through the three every time I open the app, then it doesn’t really help me. I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Hi Jenny, thank you to you and your team for your efforts in trying to find a solution for us. I know this takes time to change and it’s not possible to please everyone. Personally, I prefer the 3rd option without the woman as it’s easier for me to look at the screen. The woman image does make me feel queasy so it’s difficult for me to look at her.
I agree, constructive positive feedback is always the best way forward to find a solution together.
